I have a UK Platinum Card, my wife has a supplemental card. I want an additional card on this same account to separate certain expenses.

I call PCS and, after some confusion, the agent tells me that my annual fee of £450 includes two Platinum Cards (mine and my wife's), two Gold Cards, and three Green Cards.

I tell him I would like an additional card, he says fine, which one? I ask him if there is any difference in benefits, he says that whatever colour card I choose as my AC, the benefits are the same as the Platinum, so it doesn't really matter. I tell him to send me a Green Card.

So two questions: (1) Why include the distinction between Gold/Green when the benefits are all the same? Why not offer Platinum or Blue or whatever? (2) He told me that I could have another Platinum Card for £170 pa. Seriously? Purely for the colour of the card? Is that all it is?
