Whenever a passenger tried to get up to use the lav, the "A" flight attendant would get on the PA and announce in a chiding tone, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to take off. Everyone must remain seated their seatbelts fastened. It is unsafe to move about the cabin at this time." Of course, we clearly were not about to takeoff, and anytime we did move, it was just to inch forward in the takeoff queue. Cockpit was silent most of the time, in this case.
If you are on an active taxiway (even if not moving), you are required to be in your seat
