Thanks very much for your feedback. I have to say that Bairnsdale sounds very much my sort of place...all be it for maybe 3 days or so. It's nice to visit places that maybe you never planned to but for something like a mistake rate.. a fate kind of thing if you get my drift...but I totally understand if you do not.

That being said although that is my usual strategy unfortunately due to other ties I will not be able to make it on this occasion....but Bairnsdale has taken it's rightful place in my must places to visit on my next return to Oz ...whenever that will be

In fact on my travels to Australia I have stayed in very similar places along with other abodes towards and in the middle of the outback that would make Bairnsdale seem like the Vegas of Victoria !

I'm not too bothered about the fast food outlets...they make a decent place look untidy but the pub and the bottle shop are certainly a big plus !
