I'll tell you where some of the tension comes from: absolute beginners who find out from some circles-and-arrows blog about the WN CP, sign up for the 2 WN CCs there (giving the blog guy a couple hundred in income), and then flood over here and ask us how to proceed, without doing a search, asking the exact same questions for the 7000th time.
If they come here and stay here to participate, that's to our benefit. What percentage do that vs. take the information and never come back? There's no way to know but I'd guess the hit and run group is in the 90% range.
The other possible benefit from blog exposure is that more people learn that FlyerTalk exists. As one person posted, a large percentage of attendees at a recent FT University seminar had never heard of FlyerTalk.
