....I would be surprised if UA didn't open up at least *some* I space once they're able to charge the higher redemption rates
That means less than nothing. Those flights are seven months out. Try to book even one saver J seat on the SFO-LHR nonstop over any of the next seven days. And this is one of the slowest travel periods of the year.

It's just going to get worse after Jan. 31, because LH will no longer be an affordable option for most.
