At that age suite. When they get older the sofa bed that is usually in the living room part of a suite becomes uncomfortable. I think we stated doing primarily connecting rooms when they were about 7/10 (they are almost 3 years apart). The oldest was old enough that I could rely on her to manage door locks. Now they are 12/nearly 15 and we don't even care if they are connecting so much anymore. We do make sure they are on the same floor. They have their own keys and we tell them what time to meet us by the elevator in the morning. We've even started letting them go down to breakfast a bit earlier or go out around the hotel a bit (together) on their own depending on the neighborhood of the hotel and if there's shops etc. they want to explore in the vicinity. They hit Forever 2, Abercrombie, etc. on their own in Times Square as the thought gave me hives, we were at the Marriott, so they were literally never out of sight of the hotel.
