Can they actually do that at the office while I wait or I'd get the card in the mail? Do they have micro-SIM cards in stores or I would need to cut it?
Also how does the switchback work? Do I need to go to the store again and get a new SIM? Or could it be done over the phone with a CSR? I want to use this plan only for about two and a half months. Will I get charged for three months or proportionally?
Yes you can switch in the store. It took about 24 hours for my number to port from prepaid to simple choice. When your old sim quits working, pop the new one in.
Not sure about the switchback, as I don't understand why one would do that. I got Tmo prepaid initially because I wanted unlimited everything at a reasonable price without a contract while buying a GSM phone outright. Simple choice offers all of that PLUS global data.
Why switch back to prepaid?
