But for a premium passenger to expect something hot, edible and filling before embarking on perhaps the most popular overnight flight route in the world, without having to pay extra for it, does not seem too much to ask.

If there's good news here, apparently DL and VS will be comingling on this route from March or April - the VS Clubhouse is probably the best airline lounge marque outside of Asia, and being able to use this at LHR would possibly tempt me to fly DL again.
