If there's good news here, apparently DL and VS will be comingling on this route from March or April - the VS Clubhouse is probably the best airline lounge marque outside of Asia, and being able to use this at LHR would possibly tempt me to fly DL again.
DL and VS are already comingled, so you could have used the VS Clubhouse at JFK on your recent trip. While not as large as the LHR lounge, you could still have had a good pre-flight meal there.
