someone should add a wiki on all the ways to cash out barclays arrival points

i'm doing heavy MS on this card and have accumulated over a million points .. that's after redeeming over 300,000 points on travel in the past year. with so many points left over i am looking for best ways to redeem (at highest rate) for non-travel charges .. or simply a way to bank the points in some form that will be safe from adverse action in the event barclays decides to shut me down (due to the sheer volume of MS)

some options .. purchases to UA gift registry and lock in the value for later use, purchase of airline/hotel gift certificates etc etc. does anyone know if these are redeemable as travel expense?

what else? and most importantly.. what else is best conversion to cash
