Looking at the upgrade list and the F/C cabin availability and R availability gives you some idea of how the flight is looking but never a guarantee.
I always like to look at both when looking at upgrade chances for GPUs.
The cabin availability will give you a better idea of your upgrade chances than the upgrade waitlist usually.
