I'm wondering if one has a phone with dual active sim technology if it would be possible to run a t-mo sim(simple global) in one slot and then a country specific sim in the other? Has anyone tried this, or any thoughts?
I have this currently.
I purchased a dual sim Samsung in Asia. Have a $10 T-Mobile SIM and an Asian SIM in the device at the same time. I can select which SIM to use for different functions, so my T-Mobile SIM is the default for data services.
I just completed my first Intl trip and it worked very slick. You can choose which SIM to use when making calls. It was actually cheaper to use the Asian SIM card to make calls back to the USA then the T-Mobile charges.
I was impressed with this setup and it was really seamless. No need to change out SIMs or do a bunch of other things. Just turned on my phone when I landed and it all worked.
