Called VA yesterday and requested to transfer 50000 miles to Hilton. I hoped they will post soon as I need to make a Hilton booking.

Today, the transfer seems to have been initiated. But the date of the transaction seems to be set for Feb 5th, just one day before the devaluation. Is this normal for VA to set transfer a week from the date requested than doing it right away I understand that it can take up to 30 days for it to finish; but surprised the date was set a week from now)?
