Well, after at least a couple of years on a domestic project where I've travelled very lightly, it's soon time to hit the road (or should I say air) again.

It's all being finalised at the moment but it looks like I'll be committing around one week per month (give or take) for a couple of years in Dubai - all flights will be J.

Over the last couple of years my BA status had gone from gold (held for several years) to silver, and imminently to bronze (whoops - need to update profile). Therefore, I hold very little status with BA, making any change easier.

Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed BA and CW in the past, but the whole cost of Avios redemptions and availability has left me wondering whether there is a better alternative.

Never flown Emirates, but anecdotally hear good things. Priority for me is the best seat/bed as these will be mostly overnight flights. A good rewards program is a definite bonus.

So what says ye?
