I hate inconsistency as much as the next guy, but I think your real beef in this case is the inconsistency caused by FAs previously bending the rules. I'm pretty sure that the rules cited actually exist, and I (for one) am glad that they are enforced. I don't need seat swapping happening in the F cabin, and I also don't need to have folks sending drinks back to Y.

So, the question becomes: Would you rather have the inconsistency and have this be allowed sometimes, or would you rather have things 100% consistent and have these things never allowed?
