I've read frustrating stories on the message boards about even after someone's loaded their VR to Bluebird. they've been contacted and told the store's reported fraud on one of their VR cards, and they're deducting the amount from their account...

So, what records should I keep for peace of mind with my Bluebird account?

Currently, as soon as I buy the card, I go right home and load them to my account. Then I staple the card to the store receipt. Throw the card and the receipt in a small cardboard box I've got to store them all.

But surely I don't have to keep them ad infinitum? Anybody know any legal guidelines for how long to store that stuff?

And also, with the recent OfficeMax promotion, I've loaded about 12 MC gift cards to my Bluebird acct. I've got an OfficeMax bag I threw all the OfficeMax receipts in. Then after I load the cards onto my acct, I wrap the WM kiosk receipt around the card. When I get back home, I throw the cards and wrapped receipts in the OfficeMax bag I've got for this stuff.

But this really sounds like overkill what I'm doing.

Anybody have better guidelines for minimal stuff to keep to cover your ... in case there's some kind of dispute?
