I've just finished a 10 day Caribbean cruise on the Emerald Princess that was fantastic. There were 9 of us... 5 are family...this entire trip was paid for by my mom in honor of what would have been my parents 50th anniversary had my dad not died 2 years ago.

We are all sitting at a Club at EWR right now awaiting our flight home to SEA. I'm not letting these relatively minor issues ruin my good mood after a great vacation, but UA needs to do a better job of teaching their flight attendants consistency and frankly in the 2 specific scenarios I have... the policy should be the PMUA policy.

1. Flight SEA-SFO-FLL on 1/17 leaving SEA at 5:30am on a CRJ (which was an A319 when we booked the ticket), then connecting to a PMCO 737. Many months ago she used miles to buy 3 first class award tickets for my sister, her husband, and their daughter who turned 6 on the cruise. Mom paid cash for her and my ticket as I thought I could get us both upgraded using CPU. As it got closer I realized CPU for both wasn't likely so I used an RPU for her round trip. She cleared inside 24 hours for SFO-FLL leaving me as the only one in coach... E+ aisle..fine. However my sister and I agreed that she would trade seats with me half way through the flight. This has always been allowed on United... one time only during a flight. I wanted my sister to have the main meal, etc...and then we'd trade. The FA refused to allow it and told me to write the CEO but that's the rule. She gave me a couple free drinks as compensation, and we had a friendly chat about it and that in the very few instances in the past when I've wanted to do this on UA it was no problem. So UA.. Fix it. What's the harm in letting 2 people switch one time??????

2. We were supposed to fly home today FLL-IAH-SEA departing at 11:39am arriving at 5:22pm and we were all confirmed in F IAH-SEA, and good chance to clearing FLL-IAH. BOTH flights cancelled due to bad weather in Houston. So we all get rebooked through EWR. All 3 of my family members on the saver first class tickets are sitting in E+ only because my 1K status allowed them to..but that was a downgrade. Mom and I sat in F FLL-EWR only, and I managed to get mom into F EWR-SEA...she paid, she deserves it. The rest of us are in E+. I have no chance of clearing and they won't do FFCC like they used to for the other 3. There will be a mileage refund coming once I write 1K voice. Anyway...during the FLL-EWR flight I asked the PMCO FA if I could please send one cocktail back to a family member in E+. She said no it's policy they won't do it. A little later my mom had a glass of wine in F she wasn't going to drink so I got up and took it to my brother in law in E+. She saw me and clearly was annnoyed and went back to his seat..she let him keep it but switched it to a plastic cup. Once again in about 15 years of being 1K I've never ever been denied such a request and I made sure she knew it. It was one 50 cent drink...I didn't expect constant refills.

So that's 2 things that are different where PMUA is more friendly. Please fix these inconsistencies they are annoying.
