I have a mixed reaction to this timing. It will show all of those about to lose access what the SCs might be like going forward, but this will have the disadvantage of trying to showcase and test the new options when the lounges are still very crowded.
I'm wary as well, and agree. I can see this as another nice little ploy to bait people into purchasing memberships (at the much more extravagant rate) while DL may have absolutely no intention of actually adding these products permanently. Then on May 1st just as the "test" program ends, DL can cite some ridiculous excuse like: customer feedback was not positive enough to merit permanent addition of these enhanced products.
I don't understand the point of testing an improvement. I can't imagine anyone will say they dislike real snacks and decent services... Also, where was the "test" when they decided to can all the decent complimentary alcohol overnight? Something just doesn't add up to me...
With that said, it looks like a step in the right direction. Let's see how it pans out...
