This HUB issue had occurred to me and I guess most 'end of the line' carriers (ie their hub is the last port in the trip) set up a hub in a strategic place.
Qantas had several 'hubs' like SIN and HKG but now mostly DXB. The trouble as I see it is that DXB does not feed into Asia and further DXB would not be a common final destination.
Perhaps my biggest gripe about QFI is its lack of credible strategy - there are some articulated strategies - even these are not very clear - but they in no way seem to line up with the reality.
