I'm not a philanthropist, but I give my fair share to charity.
I prefer making my own choices instead of being pressured to donate to the choices of others, no matter how noble. The more transactions during the course of the day involves a charitable donation then the less choice I have of when and where to donate, not to mention my tax deduction.
Charity is great, but that doesn't mean it should be a constant dribble instead of purposeful choice.
