I called the number on the back of my AA Visa Plat card, told them I wanted to cancel and then the retention rep offered me $95 SC plus 1k pt bonus for spending 1k per month for next 16 months. I also asked her if she could look into the AF on my AA amex card and she was able to give me the same exact offer!
I signed up for both these cards 3 years ago at the same time(75k offer)
