Hello, forks. I am wondering if one of you have some experiences in flying on two separate AC tickets from Canada to USA (*A award seat and separately purchased AC ticket).

The entire family is flying from US (East coast, WAS) to Asia and back this year. Unfortunately, we could not find the *A award return ticket straigtht back to USA. Our only option was on AC flight from ASIA to Toronto. The *A award ticket stops at Toronto. To make up this, we are willing to buy one-way tikcet from Tronto to WAS.
So, we are holding two separate tickets: *A award ticket and non-award ticket.

Now, would we be able to "thru check-in" our luggage and ourselves in ASIA all the way to WAS? I know we do have to pick up our luggage at some point when we are cleaning Canadian(?) immigration. But, we'd like to avoid "re-checking in" our luggage and ourselves at Toronto.
Anyone knows anything about this? Thank you.
