After watching your video, I have to say I am still trying to figure out what’s your point: there are a lot of taxi touts at Lima airport, so what? You fail to explain what would be the best alternative for travellers, or what would be an acceptable rate for Miraflores. You weren’t seriously expecting to pay 20 soles, right? I had my hotel in Miraflores call a cheap (and trustworthy) “remis” which charged 40 soles from Miraflores to the airport, when the FD people were estimating a cost of around 50-60. All things taken into account, I find 50 soles an acceptable rate to be taken into town considering it’s the early hours of the morning. We’re talking about a U$3 difference in the end of the day, and I have been ripped off by much more than that for “tips” on cab fares out of JFK.

If you could let the forum know how to score a 20-30 soles fare into town that doesn’t turn out to be a bait for “drivers” intending to relieve their passengers of their belongings, I’m all ears…
