Fair comment. QR has a clear focus on preserving its premium products both on the ground and in the air. I.E. you get what you pay for.
That said, CX often goes out of its way to recognise OW status. It's not something I'm particularly bothered about, but terrific on two counts: using the F section of The Wing when booked in J ex-HKG and otherwise just another nice touch to make you've had a warmer welcome.
QR seems intent on moving towards potentially eliminating F on the very few routes it's offered. So it'll be interesting to see how its recent joining of OW together with the move to the new airport pans out.
