OP, Delta did issue those award tickets on AR as 006- tickets. I know you're looking for MQD, but just let me note that AR can offer great value for Skymiles award flights. My wife and I flew all over the country in December (and then out of SCL) on two 20,000-mile award itineraries each. One was MVD-FTE (stopover)-USH (destination), USH-AEP.

Yep, I did have an incompetent agent. I tried to book a flight using 006 ticket stock and it was quite a bit more expensive than booking through AR directly. I just used SkyMiles instead (20k for a domestic round trip in Argentina is a good redemption value when it's $500 for a Y ticket).

For my AEP - FTE ticket, DL had no availability on my desired return date. I had to buy from AR directly.
