My x220 has a Gobi card, and today for the first time since I bought it I wanted to see what WWAN options were available. (I've had the same in past Thinkpads, just haven't had the need to use on this one until now).
I discovered "Lenovo Mobile Access"

Attempting to sign up gets a 404:

Doing some more exploring, I find this note:

And then this recent blogpost:

Can anybody shed any light on this? The pricing was very decent
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/info/lenovo-mobile-access/ and the one-off options nice.
(In the past I have activated my Gobi onto Verizon, and then paid for access by buying Verizon refills cards from CL from folks who bought the wrong ones

)
So, some general questions:
1. Did anyone use this service? (My impression is that it was more used in Europe than the U.S.)
2. Anyone know what is coming in its stead, what the pricing will be?
3. My "Broadband Activation" program in the x220 gives options for Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. Can the chip be used with other services (e.g., T-mobile, Virgin Mobile?) How?
4. If I activate on Verizon now, does the "Broadband Activation Program" later allow me to change what network I want the WWAN to work on, or is this a one-shot deal?
Thanks to any who can shed some light.
