I don't think any of you understood the point I was making. This is the UK version. Country versions of a web site normally show titles that exist in the country concerned, not literal translations of titles that are in use in another country.
Titles like "Prof Dr Dr" simply do not exist in the English-speaking world - nor does the combination of "Mr" (or "Mrs") and "Dr". If you are John or Jane Smith, and you have a doctorate, then you are addressed as "Dr Smith" - no "Mr" or "Mrs". If you are Dr Jane Smith, and you have been appointed professor at a university (it's by appointment here, not something for which you have to write another thesis) then you are "Professor Smith".
These English translations of German titles are just... hilarious. I've sent the screen-shots of the pull-down menu to a few friends here (all with German connections), and they all had to pick themselves up off the floor laughing.
