That's a fair point I missed - it weighs in a tick over 9 lbs - I did compare it with the Ricardo 20 spinner, which was noticeably lighter (7.2 lbs vs 9.2 lbs for the Costco) but it does hold substantially more than the Ricardo. Interestingly, its a full two lbs lighter than either the Tumi Alpha or the Costco 22.

I'm a big guy (6'1", 230) and I fly primarily domestic, so weight isn't a big issue for me, but you raise a good point for others to assess - thanks.

Speaking of Ricardo, this bag is not based on a Samsonite, but the newest Ricardo Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive Hybrid Wheelaboard, which is essentially identical but for details, and rings in about $75-$100 higher. I'm sure evrything shared here applies to that bag as well.
