I would like to see BA/HAL find a legal solution for airside smokers (open to all, nothing to do with CCR), I don't smoke and those I know that do are reducing in number but it would make the journey more relaxing for those that do.
Thanks for being a sympathetic non-smoker. HAL is currently piloting the return of airside smoking areas with one which has been created under T4.
It's enclosed but technically outdoors, located in between two service roads. You non-smokers don't know what your missing as one of these service roads is regularly used for VIP traffic - so good rubber necking opportunity.
Without veering too far off the main topic, I'm guessing HAL got some research back which indicated that pax who smoke were leaving it til the last possible moment to go airside, thus hurting the retail opportunities on which HAL so depends.
