Flew 1a to JNB last night, landing this morning. Very private, not noisy at all, and very attendant cabin crew. The cupboard was large enough for my clothes and boots, and the extra overhead bin was lovely...there is a half size bin above the front part of the suite, as well as a standard size bin above the seated part of the suite.

If I was travelling solo, I'd opt for 1a again.
