I wouldn't recommend purchasing at Aulani; I cannot think of any case where I would say that it is a good value. In case anyone missed the last several posts, the drawbacks include
- the high maintenance fees (which will only go higher; resort budgets are posted at DVCnews.com and are an interesting read)
- the very narrow appeal to a limited age range ie families will age out quite quickly, unlike at the park timeshares
- high travel cost for yearly visits to most travellers
- relative very high buy in and post cost for a mid-range quality product
Far better to pay cash prices, or to rent from an owner. Even as an owner I wouldn't use my own points for Aulani, considering the high point requirements.
