This is one of the (several) reasons why Aulani is a failure; Disney failed to understand their customer (or desired customers). Visit any Disney message board, and there are people shocked at the prices of airfare to HNL. Most DVC owners are still clustered on the east coast of the US, and won't be visiting Aulani with any regularity.
The market for actual Aulani owners is much smaller than Disney anticipated.
The 4for3 offer has been extended yet again, as a result of their continuing challenges to sell to the resort, whether declared inventory to potential owners or cash direct guests.
