Sounds logical, though they have lots of dedicated (nonsplitable) 2 BRs. Basically they have about 100 dedicated 2 BRs and 150 lock offs. I used to play around to look at availability at 7 months on the web site. I think the real sweet spot was pool view in all room types. Standard view is cheapest pointswise, and they go fast. Ocean view is in demand too. Pool view, though, is almost as high as ocean view points wise, but not nearly as good, so I think gets booked last.
I think the availability to DVC owners and the paying public is different. Seems that the DVC part gets booked up quickly, whereas there was revenue rooms widely available up to the very last minute. Talking to some DVC owners who booked way ahead of time.. I only booked a month or so out and received a nice one bedroom villa.
Standard view studio is probably the first to go, I agree.
