I've been searching quite heavily trying to find the best hotels for an upcoming trip overseas for my wife and I. Spending 3 nights in Dublin, 1 of which falls over St. Patrick's Day; then we're going to do 3 nights in London to wrap the trip up. I have a lot of points that I had been banking in anticipation of the trip. I was sort of hoping for a good set of Points Breaks deals from IHG, thinking I could then save our remaining points for other family trips. But after seeing the recent list on all the other blogs, it doesn't look like any of them happen to be near enough the cities we're hitting.

I have plenty of points to use from Hyatt (~50K), Club Carlson (150K), IHG (240K), and SPG (70K) --- and then some, but not quite as many, from Mariott (50K) and Hilton (32K). I know I have enough to stay just about anywhere. What I don't know, is what are the recommendations from those that have traveled there? I know nothing about Dublin, but have been to London in the past and am quite comfortable in that city; comfortable enough to know which locations are good. But I don't know anything about the hotels there. Anyone have some favorites they recommend I look into? Or ones to avoid?

I'll continue to search the forums and blogs, but thought I'd make a quick post to see what others have to say. I appreciate your help!!
