I have done some more research and of course I have more questions. Here is a list of what I have:

~I have reconsidered where I want to use the points, and now I am thinking flights from SDF (Louisville) to the UVF (St. Lucia) for next winter. I see that Alaska Air partners with Delta and AA for some good economy seats at 35,000 roundtrip plus taxes.
~I know nothing about Alaska Air other then I missed the 50,000 point offer a few weeks ago. But I do know from my reading that booking these flights with Delta could be frustrating. Any advice on the transfer?
~I am also up for doing an app-o-rama and was thinking Delta, Frontier and Alaska air or are there bigger fish I should be looking at? My credit is 740 and I want to start getting points and banking them for future travel now so I getting ready to read about manufactured spending to meet the minimums. I want to avoid any AF's if possible.
