You could always pay for the hotel room for the night you are traveling.
That's the normal solution!
However, emailing beforehand and politely requesting early room-entry also works for me about 40% of the time. It just depends how busy they are. Most places also have somewhere you can at least take a shower and get changed if you ask nicely.
