Also it's possible to buy Trenord tickets on the Trenitalia site (as far as I can tell). There are quite a few trains stations actually in Milan (see here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_stations_in_Milan ) but most of these are smaller stations inside the city limits/part of the suburban rail system.
