I was very pleasantly surprised when both my husband and I received one checked bag pp free on a US flight earlier this month ....I had BLUE A3 status and he was an A3 newbie taking his first flight charged to A3 number.

Now the good news is with that trip, I crossed the 20 k threshold for A3 gold, and he is now A3 Blue. We fly again on US next week with suitcases, ski bags, boot bags in tow (on same PR) so *Gold will be a wonderful benefit

Such a shame I now have the coveted *A Gold status BUT ....US is leaving *A. Since we live in downtown Philly US often has the best routes for us.

I'll be happy when my Gold card comes in the mail and will have to keep my A3 Gold Welcome email printout close in the meantime.

Still trying to figure out to which airline I should start to credit my flight miles now....... US or maybe UA ..... hmmmmm
