Another sky couch opinion

Just got back from LAX to Auckland and back. We purchased skycouches for the two of us. Very few people did that. I would rather have had the Premium economy.

Skycouch wound up with two adults uncomfortably trying to catch a few winks and rolling around trying to get comfortable then giving up. We wound up with one laying down with the other sitting up then switching. On our return flight we tried where one sleeps and the other finds an empty seat and then you switch.

I saw people switch all over the economy section spreading out without paying the extra fee. Economy... Go with buying two seats aisle and window and see what happens. The only sky couch I saw that worked was adults with children. Love the concept but the guy across from us, not using sky couch seats, had the whole row of four to himself.

Everyone will lay their seat back. If you do go skycouch, wear pants with pockets as once the footrests go up and the guy in front of you goes back, you can't retrieve anything that is under the seat in front of you and the pockets are tough to get to as well. Remember where you keep the seatbelt bag with extra belts because they come to collect that at the end of the flight and you are in a jumble of blankets and pillows. Also, bring your own ear plugs and blindfolds.
