Proud Bird got a min. one year extension, I believe. Rental and maintenance of the Encounter space would probably be too expensive for most chains. There are already plenty of choices for fast food throughout LAX.
That was one of the (many) nice things about it. They could have coasted by on the million-dollar view, but the food and service were surprisingly good. Add to that a Disney Imagineering-designed space and I'm still shocked it's closed down.
