If you like the apartment idea, try Onefinestay (www.onefinestay.com) They are like AirBnB but have more high end properties. That being said, depending on the date you can get quite reasonable rates, and you have the plus of staying in an apartment instead of a hotel, but with hotel services. I've tried them in London and loved it.
