Unfortunately, Golds do not get any priority for locating lost luggage or even speaking to someone about it.
From my own personal experience, unless someone has visibility of your bag(s) in front of them, whoever you speak to just does not know. Most of the time, they try to be kind and end up possibily given you false hope, after which you may feel you have been lied to. I have learnt not to trust the BA tracking system. My experience on AA has been the same.
I do appreciate how frustrating the experience is and many of us have been through the same experience before. Your questions, concerns and frustrations were the very same the raced through my mind the first time I and many others had the same unfortunate experience.
My experience is that the bags either turn up within a couple of days or in three-four weeks time. You just have to resigned yourself to that fact. My bags have been on holiday longer than we have but they did come home eventually.
The best experience I had of speaking to someone was to turn up at the airport (in this case Orlando) and speak to a duty manager who fortunately was between flights so had some some time to undertake various searches on her terminal.
