I once sat on the ground in ATL for 3 hours having to return to the gate and then finally headed out for the ATL-STL flight. It was the evening of the horrible tornadoes that ripped through Alabama and the rest of the southeast in 2011. At the time we had no clue to what was happening just one state over.

While on the ground it turned into a happy hour (or happy 3 hours) for those of us sitting up front. At the time I somewhat felt bad for everyone who was seated in economy and who could obviously see everyone in first "making the best of it" via alcohol and the snack basket. However, after the 3rd or 4th round I didn't really notice anymore. The crew also had music playing so it really didn't, at the time, seem that bad.
