Smile The Best Delayed Flight Experience Ever

No one wants to have a delayed flight but the one I had today was the absolute best of a bad situation. Connecting through DTW to 4118 to GSP on a CRJ200. We were ready to push back and an indicator light for the nose gear came on.

They opened the boarding door and maint worked on it for ten minutes. It was then decided we all needed to deplane. They said it would be 45 minutes. They also said that they would look for another aircraft. 15 minutes into the wait they changed gates and found us another plane.

Went to the new gate and they had a snack bar set up and told us to help ourselves. We boarded and took off about two hours later than the original flight. Then on board, Thomas, our FA said that drinks were on Delta. If you want a drink, be our guest. Then about 20 minutes before we landed, FA came down the aisle with the liquor tray then the beer tray letting people take "one to go". Landed about hour and forty-five minutes late.

I wasn't going to sent a complaint to Delta but I'm going to send a compliment. This was some great customer service. Kudos Delta. Just wish I had a" job well done" coupon with me. Please Delta, recognize this FA went above and beyond to make a tough situation very good. He had a great personality and loved his job. ^
