Although not a frequent flier I've been flying BA/BEA for over 50 years so I'd like to think I've qualified in some small way to post my opinions....not that anyone should have to justify such a thing on a discussion forum.
As for defending BA I don't. Anyway, why should it matter if I do? Are we all expected to join and follow the bash BA brigade?
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't get the continued disagreement with those who have current experience.
For me, BA has over the last few years gone from great to just ok and that's across all classes.
Still my first choice for s/h but l/h is now about 75% other airlines.
