Sorry for your experience OP......I don't agree with your evaluation of J in relation to foreign airlines (extensive experience on Emirate, JAL, BA) but Cathay probably is better.

I think you may have got a bad crew, happens.....but my expectations are pretty laid back, so in the end you may have this opinion on every AA J international experience and your opinion may be the majority's.
