Some of the more strident AA partisans have argued that A) sticker-based upgrades are a great thing and AA should keep them, creating a "change you'll love" for US flyers, and that B) filthy plebeian US CPs don't deserve to be merged into the same class as those brave Adonises, those Cadillacs of men, the AA EXPs, presumably because US CPs got their status by doing things like flying a bunch of domestic segments rather than weekly round-the-world charters.

(I am only half exaggerating -- plenty of AA fans have argued for the stickers, and against CP/EXP being treated as equivalent, so the hyperbole is only in my description of their reasons, not of the conclusions they argue for)
