Same itinerary on AE is 15K miles + $180
If I have miles to burn for my family, why would I buy a $400 FLEX fare for ONE person and get only 1000 status miles, when I can use the same money to get 2 AE reward tix?!
I thought all Aeroplan bookings had free standby to LGA? I was under the impression it wouldn't matter if it showed flex or tango.
If you are saving $200/ticket but using 15,000 miles, isn't it $0.0146 per mile valuation? Seems very low to me... Personally I'd rather spend the extra $1200 on e.g. 6 round trips, and use the 90K saved for a J award to Europe.
If you have no interest in going anywhere else except LGA and have the miles to burn... sure burn them, why not.
