[MGM] Signature at MGM Grand Las Vegas REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

I haven't seen reviews of any properties for the new partnership yet so I thought this may help other people given the new combined program.

I had two recent stays at the Signature property. The property itself is decent; however, getting them to honor promised terms of the reservation proved to be incredibly difficult. I booked through Chase LHR and was denied both the promised upgrade and late checkout despite availability for both. I don't spend much time in my room so the actual rooms aren't very important to me so that may cause a discrepancy in my review compared to others (which is also why I don't pay for Skylofts or Hotel 32 or whatever the Aria specialty rooms are called.

The breakfast credit with Chase LHR is only good at Delights, which is a cafe. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anything special. If you don't have that breakfast credit, there is no reason to eat there.

Pros:
The first suite I had was very spacious. Because these were meant to be condos it would be very nice to stay here if you were staying for over a week. They have silverware (at least they did on the first stay), a stove, microwave, etc... The view wasn't bad, but during the summer I'd imagine that it is much better because it overlooks the MGM pools. There was no line at checkin and checkout which is a big plus for a Las Vegas property. The connected towers each have their own checkin. The spa was very nice, the massage was above average, and there is a nice hot tub there. While most people won't go to the salon, I figured I'd mention that the haircut was nice albeit overpriced.

Pros/Cons (these may be pros for some and cons for others):
The property is very quiet with a little bit of a pretentious feel. As a 25 year old I felt somewhat out of place. It does not feel like a Las Vegas property because it isn't on the strip, doesn't have gaming, and isn't very active. If you are coming to Las Vegas solely to relax, this is a decent property.

Cons:
I have to admit that both of my stays started out poorly (due to the denial of late checkout and having to fight to get the spa and dining credit) so I may be subconsciously exaggerating the poor points of the property. To get to the strip you have to walk a long way to get to the MGM property and then try to find your way through the massive casino that has no signs indicating where LVB is. I actually don't mind the walking, and kind of enjoy it in Las Vegas where the people watching opportunities are prime, but the inability to determine where the exit is was particularly frustrating. On the way from the Signature property to the MGM casino you will most likely be hassled by people trying to give you brochures for things so that you can throw them away (this is not outside, this is inside the hotel). The MGM casino itself is pretty bad, I played blackjack at three different tables there and on two of them I'm not sure that the dealer said a word. The MGM property is in a poor location on the strip, at least in my opinion, especially because I generally go to Planet Hollywood and Caesars to gamble (why couldn't Hyatt have teamed up with Caesars). But I think even if you didn't have a preferred casino this property is simply in a bad location because it takes so long to get to other places.

Final disposition: if you want a quiet, relaxed hotel this is a decent one for $100/night, but if you want an exciting experience, stay away. If all you want is a nice room, but want to be close to the action, stick with Hotel 32. The Signature is NOT a "luxury property."

Pictures- sorry, quality isn't great because they were from a phone (from the first stay in a regular suite, the second stay was in an accessible room):
