It says "...offering BusinessElite service..." A flight with a seat map that says BusinessElite isn't going to meet this requirement unless it also offers BusinessElite service. Now, whether Delta IT will figure this out for the x number of people who try to trick this, is another question.
For what it's worth, I care less about the PM/GM status as it's really no different than a status challenge (albeit a MUCH MUCH easier challenge). It's the 100k miles and SkyClub membership that irks me.
I'm a Gold on UA and they offered this to me, I'd immediately take them up on it, and DL would lose a paid J ticket. So as I'm sure others will think the same, this will likely shift revenue to Delta. Given that DL's BE product really is much better that many other carriers (especially US-based ones), I bet this truly will shift business to DL in the longer term.
