I am currently a 1K with UA. I thought it would be a good idea to use some miles with AA and check out their program so booked ticket from LHR to AER (BA connecting to S7). I'm not impressed with American airlines so far. I booked the ticket using mileage for a business class ticket. I put the ticket on hold and went to confirm it today. When I did this and asked to look at seat assignments (which AA can't do on their Codeshare flights with BA???) I found out I am purchasing a business class award ticket but being put in economy. I would understand if the business class cabin was full….it clearly isn't full. I spoke to a supervisor who didn't seem to understand my concern and continued to repeat that they could book me on other flights using less miles but I would have to have "flexible travel plans".

Not impressed with AA…I think I'll stick with UA.
